50th Anniversary Party

On Saturday, September 28th, 2024 we celebrated Historic Kansas City’s 50th Anniversary at the Stevens House, designed by L. Grant Middaugh. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places for the period (1880-1910) with high style Colonial and Neoclassical Revival architecture. VIP guests enjoyed a personalized tour of the house by owner Jeff Zumsteg and the Garden Party celebrated HKC with a live band, drinks, and mingling under the stars on a gorgeous fall night. Thank you to all our members that were able to attend our anniversary event.

STEVENS HOUSE

Jeff Zumsteg acquired the property in foreclosure in January of 2088 and moved from Atlanta, GA specifically for the house, which had fallen into a state of neglect. He oversaw its restoration.

VIP TOUR

An exclusive tour was given of the house by owners Jeff Zumsteg and Jeff Linville.

BASEMENT SPEAKEASY

With the Prohibition Laws kicking in, many homes being built during this era had hidden bars in their homes.
