Elmwood Cemetery Volunteer Work Day
Event Sponsors: Elmwood Cemetery
It’s that time of year… The first volunteer workday of the year is scheduled for Elmwood Cemetery on March 24th from 9 to noon. We have a number of projects to tackle as we approach the mowing season.
- There are tons of leaves that need to be raked and bagged.
- Although we have cleaned up all of the big limbs that fell last year, there are a lot of smaller limbs that need to be picked up so the mowers can get around.
- We have discovered four more Jewish gravestones that are not where they are supposed to be, so we need a team to reset them.
- There are six new stones, including one new Civil War gravestone, that need to be set.
If you are available we would love to have you join us. If you plan on helping, you might let me know so we can get a good estimate on how many will be working. You can do whatever you want, so bring tools and supplies accordingly… leaf rakes, shovels, pickup trucks, gloves, etc. Leaf bags will be provided.
Thanks for your support,
